Who we are
This website is operated by Caelastra ("we", "us", "our"), based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Caelastra is the controller of any personal data collected through this site. You can contact us at [email protected].
What we collect
- Your name, business name and email address, and what you need, if you send us an audit request.
- Anything else you choose to include, such as your website address or details about your business.
- We do not use cookies, analytics or tracking technologies, so we do not build any profile of you as you browse.
Why we collect it, and our legal basis
We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry and, where you've asked for one, to carry out a free audit of your business's online presence. Our legal basis is legitimate interests under UK GDPR — specifically, our interest in responding to enquiries you've chosen to send us. If this leads to a working relationship, some processing may instead rely on performance of a contract.
Who processes it
We don't sell or share your information for marketing. A small number of service providers process it on our behalf, only so the site and your enquiry work:
- Cloudflare hosts this website. Like any web host, it briefly processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
- Resend, an email delivery service, passes your audit request to our inbox and sends you a confirmation.
- Our email provider hosts the inbox where your enquiry is received and answered.
These providers act on our instructions and do not use your information for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you — typically no more than 12 months if no further contact or working relationship follows. If you become a client, we keep relevant information for the duration of that relationship and for as long afterwards as UK law requires (for example, for tax and accounting purposes).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it (right of access)
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data (right to rectification)
- Ask us to delete your data (right to erasure)
- Ask us to restrict how we use your data (right to restriction)
- Object to us processing your data (right to object)
- Ask for your data in a portable format, where technically applicable (right to data portability)
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We'll respond within one month, as required by law.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal data, we'd appreciate the chance to put it right directly — but you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
